An Almost Poem - Eyes Wake Glazed

Eyes Wake Glazed

(A poem, sort of, I just wrote about what depression feels like. 

I don't write poetry, so this is as good as it gets.)

Your leaving, so slight. Sights losing their luster. Barely noticeable to the mind. You think you've gone. 

That's the way he'd have it. No leaving. You're still there. Here. Darkness laughing in your defeat. 

Laughing, how easily you lie down in surrender. 

Your bed is the only hope of release. The only thing darker, he can't penetrate.

 Haze will disappear after I sleep.

 Still laughing as your eyes wake glazed. Gray-blackness has no escape.

Sunshine and Lollipops!

It's official, I now live in the good old state of Arizona! I never imagined myself living here #1 because the summer is deathly hot and 2 because everything is brown. But I think I can handle it for awhile since I have some great friends and a whole lot of sun! In fact I am sitting in the sun as we speak. So I know you have all been dying to know about my new digs and my new job. So I will spend this post playing catch up.


My new house is awesome! I have two roommates, Bonnie-Jeane and Katherine. Bonnie-Jeane does finance at US Airways (I got a sweet deal on a buddy pass to NY from her) and Katherine teaches Spanish at a High School in Scottsdale. I have been so blessed to have such great and accomplished roommates! I really appreciate them. They have been so kind to me and we are already great friends.

Katherine is the blond on the left. We went dancing and stopped to get hydrated afterwards. It was a  really fun night!

Bonnie-Jeane is on my left in the blue. We hiked Camelback Mountain. I had no idea how freakin' huge Phoenix is!  The other two ladies are my good friends Kylee and Emma-Jeane (Bonnie-Jeane's cousin, hence the Jeane) They are doing their student teaching right now in math. We have a lot of laughs together! They are coming over right now so I better hurry up with this post! :)

The house!

The house we live in is Katherine's uncles house. It is located in a sketchy neighborhood, but it is really nice. It was remodeled and made to hold the youth for mutual so it is perfect for parties, which I have used to the max! We have at least 2 parties a week!

The tiny TV has been put to good use! There is a bathroom and laundry room through those doors, and a  kitchenette too. 

I love the way this bathroom is set up. We have seperate sinks but share a shower and toilet. You can see the doors to them in the mirror.  It's a huge bathroom.

And then there is my room! It's huge! I have no idea what to do with the space since I din't bring much with me. So I am borrowing this gigantic bec and nice desk from my roommate. 

The bed is so big that I can sleep any direction and I still fit! That is a first for tall Leesa. 

Oh and don't forget my two walk-in closets. They are both only half filled because I seriously have no stuff! 

The PR Job

I work for a PR firm called the McRae Agency. We have a few different clients and I am in charge of social media for them and pitching. It has been a good learning experience so far and I am enjoying it. My boss is a very kind and fun person, so it makes doing the work enjoyable. The office is pretty nice. I always get really lucky to have an office to myself wherever I work. I don't know if that means I am lucky or if people just are annoyed with me and want me in a room by myself. JK :) Either way I get a sweet office! No cube for me!

The window is also a door so that I have easy access to the bathroom. That is good because I have the smallest bladder known to man. My mom can attest to that. She always knows that whenever we get somewhere that I will need to go to the bathroom because I didn't have to go when we left. I still have a five year olds bladder.

There are lots of little building in the complex. We share an office with my bosses husband who owns a magazine.

There are lots of bunnies around my office! They make me so happy! I want to lure them into my office so we can have tea. But my Mom has forbidden me due to the last incedent I had with a furry animal. But I know that bunnies are nicer than squirrels so I might still try! :)

This is our main client. Solatube International. When I first went to their website to research them,  I thought  "Great, a client who installs skylights. This is going to be interesting." My thoughts are often sarcastic. But then as I dug around I realized that they are so much cooler than skylights and I love this client. The tubular daylighting systems have the same function of bringing light  into a room like skylights except they make it so much brighter and much more consistent. The tube that the light goes into is reflective so that much more light comes through than a normal skylight. It is super cool! 

This whole room is natural light! We went on a business trip to San Diego and met with the client. This was the room we  were in and I loved it! They look like real lights but they are all natural lights. I can't wait till I have my own house because I will be using these in it! I am not just saying this because I am doing PR for them. I actually love the product. If you know me you know that I love sunshine and go out of my way to soak it into my skin! 

This is how it works. The coolest part is that the tubing can go at a 90 degree angle and still be just as powerful. I think the most they have been able to turn it 90 degrees is seven times for one solatube. Pretty cool! 

And last the best of all the game! MY DIPLOMA!! It came in the mail and I was so stoked! It's official! I am now a BYU graduate!
